Rock the Block

The 2017 Rock the Block by Harvest Church, held at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, had about 5,000 people attend, and gave away 1,500 backpacks, served 3,000 meals, baptized 12 people, gave 400 haircuts provided by Focus 4 Beauty and provided 450 family portraits. The Ruthvens provided warehouse space for the school supplies, the Florida Department of Health administered 100 back-to-school immunizations as well as provided shot records for the students and the Polk County Health Department administered 30 HIV tests. Other service providers included Central Florida Health Care, WIC, Safelink, Youth Build, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, OneBlood and the Health Department Dental Program.
