Comprehensive Pediatric Primary Care
Primary care is the foundation of quality health care for children, especially for the under-served. An effective medical home must address the health, cognitive, and inter-related psychosocial challenges that at-risk children face. Primary care for rural/urban families must provide a medical home that addresses the interrelated health, cognitive, and psychosocial/behavioral challenges that affect economically disadvantaged children and perpetuate the cycle of poverty.
However, a few pediatricians routinely address family psychosocial problems at well-child visits. An overarching goal of Central Florida Healthcare is to establish a culture that encourages providers and staff to embrace a holistic view of children within their family and cultural contexts and address the full range of issues that impact children’s well-being.
When unexpected illnesses occur, We offer same-day appointments. Each day, our Pediatricians leave a part of their schedules open to accommodate patients who need an immediate appointment. Of course, parents still have the option to schedule an appointment for their child in advance.
Immunization (vaccination) is a way of creating immunity to certain diseases by using small amounts of a killed or weakened microorganism which causes a particular disease. The risks of vaccinations are small compared with the health risks associated with the diseases they’re intended to prevent. The pediatric department is pleased to provide an immunization schedule for your child recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Well-Child Care visits provide vaccinations, sports physicals, and an opportunity for your pediatrician to assess the physical growth and development of your child. Developmental milestones are also evaluated.
